Amelia (Amy) Catania was born in Houston and went to Stephen F. Austin State University to obtain her bachelor’s in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education. She worked in Houston ISD for 3 years before moving to further her career. She gained experience as a special education teacher and coordinator working in Northwest Indiana and attended DePaul University in Chicago IL. where she received her M. Ed in Counseling in 2014.  She worked as a school counselor for 10 years between Chicago and Houston.  In 2024 she received her LPC-Associate license. She is a therapist who will meet you where you are and work at a comfortable pace. She is dedicated to supporting clients in all aspects of their lives.

Amy’s specialty is working with children, adolescents, teens, families, and parents and in addition, working with individuals experiencing or managing:  school issues, learning disabilities, trauma, identity, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, motivation, home life, and grief, among others. She can also use sign language to support communication with children. She looks forward to working with you.
